What is included

The jobs that make a home work better

Some jobs sit between a repair and an upgrade: a filter that makes the water taste better, a fireplace that warms a room, a vent that keeps the dryer safe. They take little time on the calendar and make a real difference in daily life.

We carry out these repairs and installations within the scope of our Home Improvement License. If a job needs more than that, we tell you before we start and bring in the right licensed partner.

Our repairs and installations

  • Installed properly, tested before we leave

From clean water to a cozy fireplace and a safer dryer, we handle the installations and upkeep that homeowners put off, within the scope of our Home Improvement License.

  • Water filter installation

Under-sink, faucet and countertop filters installed neatly, with clean, clear water at the tap.

  • Whole-house water filtration

A filtration system installed where water enters your home, so every tap, shower and appliance gets filtered water.

  • Artificial fireplace installation

Electric fireplaces, from plug-in units to wall-mounted and built-in models: warmth and atmosphere with no chimney.

  • Dryer vent cleaning

Lint removed from the vent and duct, so your dryer dries faster, runs cooler and is safer to use.

  • Window AC installation

Window air conditioners installed securely, with the unit supported and gaps sealed, so it cools well and stays put.

  • And other repairs and installations

Have a repair or installation that is not listed? Tell us what it is and we will let you know if we can do it.

Water filters

One tap or the whole house?

The right filter depends on what you want to improve. Here is how the two options differ.

Single-tap filter

  • Treats the water at a single tap, usually the kitchen
  • Suits you when drinking and cooking water is your main concern
  • A quick, tidy installation, usually under the sink or on the faucet

Whole-house system

  • Treats all the water as it enters your home
  • Reduces sediment reaching every tap, shower and water-using appliance
  • Installed on the main water line, so it is a larger job

Not sure what is in your water? A simple water test helps you choose the right filter, and we can talk you through the options.

Dryer vent cleaning

Signs your dryer vent needs cleaning

  • Clothes take longer than one cycle to dry
  • The dryer or the laundry room feels unusually hot
  • A burning smell when the dryer runs
  • Lint collecting around the dryer or at the vent opening
  • Energy bills creeping up with no other explanation

Cleaning the vent at least once a year is the usual guideline, and more often with a large household or pets that shed.

Burning smell, smoke or flames? Stop the dryer and unplug it if it is safe. If you see smoke or fire, leave the home and call 911.

Repairs FAQ

Good to know

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Our handyman professionals are licensed and insured, and we carry out repairs and installations within the scope of our Home Improvement License. If a job needs more than that, we tell you before we start and bring in a licensed partner.

Which repairs and installations do you do?

Water filter and whole-house water filtration installation, artificial fireplace installation, dryer vent cleaning and window air conditioner installation, among other everyday repairs and installations. If your job is not on the list, describe it and we will tell you whether we can help.

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?

At least once a year is the usual guideline. Clean it more often if you have a large household, pets that shed, frequent loads of towels and bedding, or a long vent with several bends.

Which water filter is right for me?

A filter at one tap treats the water you drink and cook with. A whole-house system treats all the water entering your home. If you are not sure what is in your water, a simple water test helps you choose, and we can talk you through the options.

Can you install a fireplace or air conditioner I already bought?

Yes. Tell us the brand and model and where it should go. You can buy the unit yourself or ask us what suits your room.

What should I do if my dryer smells like it is burning?

Stop the dryer and unplug it if it is safe to do so. If you see smoke or flames, leave the home and call 911. Once it is safe, call us to inspect and clean the vent.

How do I get a price?
